Our client was a CEO who’s considered a visionary in the hospitality industry. After 10 years of building his business, it was time to hire a president for day-to-day operations. He was looking for an executive who could bring rigour, discipline and sophistication to the business, and had tried another search firm without success. We spent significant time understanding and qualifying who they were looking for, and meeting with their board, other stakeholders and presidents of business units. We persuaded our client to look outside the hospitality industry for candidates with the right skillset but who could also bring new strategies and thinking.
